  • Director Amr Salama accuses the production company of fraud and misconduct, refusing to cooperate, and threatens legal action.

  • Producer Rimon Ramses confirms that all payments were made and says filming lasted only one week out of the planned 7–8 weeks.

The crisis surrounding preparations for the sequel of the film "Shams El Zanati" has escalated following mutual accusations between director Amr Salama and the production company.

Salama described the company as a "professional scam," pointing to legal manipulation and the refusal to release payments owed to him and his team.

He announced his intention to pursue the matter through legal and union channels.

On the other hand, producer Rimon Ramses responded by confirming that all financial dues for the director and the crew had been paid according to the agreed schedule.

He added that Salama's withdrawal was sudden and unjustified, noting that he had tried to contact the director for over a year and a half, but was blocked on all social media platforms.

Ramses also clarified that what had been filmed under Salama’s supervision did not exceed one week out of the seven to eight weeks scheduled for shooting, affirming the company’s compliance with all contracts and financial obligations to the staff.

The new version of "Shams El Zanati" has faced multiple delays since the project was first announced years ago.

It is a continuation of the classic 1991 film starring the late Adel Imam.

The film industry is now awaiting the results of legal and union proceedings to determine the project’s future and whether filming will resume.
