In a historic first, the Recording Academy announced that the 68th Annual Grammy Awards 2025 will be held in Egypt, specifically at the heart of the Giza Pyramids, on October 22.

The ceremony is expected to be attended by top officials from the Recording Academy, including Carlos Banay, President of the Recording Academy, Harvey Mason, CEO, and Kanazawa Yukio, CEO of the 2025 Grammy Awards. Many international music stars are also expected to attend, particularly those competing for this year’s top awards.
Omar Khairat to Open the Event with a Musical Surprise
A major highlight of the ceremony will be a special opening performance by the legendary Egyptian composer Omar Khairat, blending the authenticity of Egyptian music with a modern global touch. For the first time in Grammy history, Egyptian artists will compete this year. Hamza Namira is competing in the categories of Best Global Album and Best Global Performance with his album "Qarar Shakhsi" (Personal Decision). The masked artist Two Lit received four nominations, including Best Music Video, Best Album Cover, Best Vocal Performance, and Best Global Album.
Additionally, Mohamed Ramadan is nominated in the newly introduced Top Music Category for his hit song "Ana Enta", reflecting Egypt’s strong and remarkable presence in the most prestigious international music awards.
