Egyptian actress Boussy, accompanied by her lawyer, appeared before the Public Prosecution to give her testimony regarding complaints filed against several individuals whom she accused of exploiting checks signed in her name, financially blackmailing her, and attempting to prevent her from traveling.

During the investigation, Boussy confirmed that the checks and signatures were genuine, but she denied knowing the individuals to whom the checks were issued, saying: “These checks are mine and the signatures are mine, but I don’t know the names of the beneficiaries or the people who are trying to blackmail me or exploit these checks against me.”

Details of the crisis after travel ban

Security authorities at Cairo Airport had detained Boussy and prevented her from traveling to Dubai, in accordance with a Public Prosecution order barring her from leaving the country. Investigators intercepted her at the airport before boarding the plane, to enforce three judicial rulings issued against her.

During the investigation, Boussy denied knowing the beneficiaries of the checks and filed a complaint with the prosecution accusing certain parties of manipulating the checks and obtaining court rulings against her, aiming to tarnish her reputation and prevent her from traveling to perform concerts. She clarified that while the signatures on the checks are hers, she does not know the names listed.

The Public Prosecution ordered Boussy’s release after objections were submitted regarding the rulings issued in absentia and set a new session to review the cases against her, ensuring justice and the continuation of investigations into the filed complaints.
