Shocking Incident Shakes Morocco… Burns Claim the Life of an Artist, Leaving Fans in Shock

Moroccan artist Mustafa Souliet passed away, Sunday, at Tangier University Hospital, succumbing to complications from third-degree burns he had suffered five days earlier, following a brutal attack that took place on Zlaqa Street in Al Hoceima on October 7.
Moroccan media sources reported that Souliet breathed his last in the intensive care unit, after medical teams failed to save his life, despite being transferred from Al Hoceima Regional Hospital to Tangier for specialized care and better medical conditions.
Shocking assault Souliet, known for his physical disability and participation in local artistic works, had been the victim of a brutal attack in which someone poured a flammable substance on him and set his body on fire. This caused severe burns and left him in a coma from which he never recovered.
The incident sparked widespread outrage and deep sympathy in the artistic community and across social media, shocking both the artistic and human rights sectors due to the brutality of the crime and the victim’s vulnerable social and health situation.
The Public Prosecutor at the Court of Appeal in Al Hoceima ordered an urgent investigation into the circumstances of the incident. The suspect has been placed under tight custody and is expected to face criminal trial once the investigation is complete.
