Eid chants and takbirs resonate in Gaza, celebrating the end of the war – Video

The streets of Gaza today returned to embrace overwhelming joy following the announcement of a ceasefire, as if the entire city were celebrating a long-awaited holiday. Cheers and Takbirs (calls of "Allahu Akbar") rose in every street, vehicles paraded through the roads honking in celebration, and laughter that had been absent for two years of brutal war and daily suffering echoed once again.
Journalist and influencer Saleh Al-Jaafrawi documented the scenes of joy and happiness on X, showing Gazans eager to express their delight in a spontaneous and sincere manner.
“Takbirs of Eid”
Adding to the beauty and brilliance of the moment were the Takbirs of Eid, traditionally heard during Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, now echoing through Gaza as its residents celebrate the festival of resilience, victory, dignity, and perseverance.
In Gaza’s alleys, sorrow, hunger, and the fear of the recent past still lingered among residents deprived of basic living necessities. Yet today, hope was visible on weary, dusty, and sorrowful faces; children ran through the streets, women waved flags, and every corner of the city seemed to redraw smiles on the faces of its people.
Despite the remnants of destruction and rubble that filled some streets, joy dominated the scene. Takbirs, songs, and cries of happiness blended with past pain, creating a vivid tableau reflecting the steadfastness of the Palestinian people. Amid the anguish and sorrow they endured, Gazans appeared united in their joy, looking forward to a safer, more peaceful tomorrow after two years of fear, destruction, hunger, and deprivation, marking their lives with prayers to Allah in a scene that seemed almost miraculous.
