Abduction of Tunisian actor Mohamed Mrad from the Freedom Flotilla – Video

The International Committee to Break the Siege announced that the Israeli navy stormed the "Florida – Anas Al-Sharif" ship, seized it by force, and abducted those on board, including Tunisian actor Mohamed Mrad.
In a video posted by the Tunisian actor — a supporter of Gaza — on his official Instagram account, he stressed that their mission was purely humanitarian, fully compliant with international law, and carried no form of violence. He added that they were abducted by Israeli forces, calling for international pressure on Tel Aviv to secure their immediate release.
A Solidarity Voyage
Weeks earlier, Mrad had announced his participation in the crew of the "Florida" ship, which set sail from Tunisia on September 4 as part of a solidarity mission continuing the efforts of the Freedom Flotilla that departed from Tunisia towards Libya, aiming to draw the world’s attention to Gaza’s suffering and break the blockade imposed on it.
The Tunisian actor published several video clips documenting the atmosphere of the convoy, affirming that what the participants are enduring cannot be compared to the daily tragedies faced by the people of Gaza, such as injured children or families losing their loved ones. He considered the small sacrifices they are making as “not even 1% of what Palestinians go through.”
Call for Support
Mrad also urged his followers to support the initiative financially and morally — whether through donations to provide baby formula or by backing the flotilla — ending one of his messages with the words: “Long live Palestine.”
It is worth noting that Mohamed Mrad, 35, is considered one of Tunisia’s prominent young actors, known for his role as Mehdi Ben Salem in the series “Naoura El Hawa” and his role as Qassem in “Taj El Hadhra”, which boosted his popularity in Tunisia and across the Arab world.
