Farida Saif Al-Nasr Sparks Sympathy Following Her Brother’s Health Decline

Egyptian actress Farida Saif Al-Nasr is experiencing deep sorrow and anxiety following the deterioration of her brother’s health, who is currently receiving treatment in hospital after suffering a heart attack.
Farida revealed that her brother wished to see his children, but visits were not permitted, prompting her to address the medical team in a Facebook post, urging them to consider the patient’s psychological well-being alongside medical care. She wrote: "A plea, not a command… my brother’s heart stopped twice, and when he opened his eyes, he wanted to see one of his children or his wife… it’s not humane to prevent this; it might be his last wish." She added: "Mercy must come before bureaucracy. I am on my way and praying for him… God’s will be done."
The post received widespread support from her followers, who prayed for her brother’s recovery and expressed agreement with her call for balancing medical protocols with human compassion.
On the professional front, Farida recently sparked discussions on social media after criticizing some artists and celebrities for appearing on TikTok, arguing that it diminishes their artistic stature. She also called on the Actors’ Syndicate head, Ashraf Zaki, to take action on the matter.
Farida’s latest work was the Ramadan 2024 series Al-Atawla, which featured a star-studded cast including Ahmed El Sakka, Tarek Lotfy, Zeina, Basel Samra, Huda Al-Atarbi, Salah Abdullah, and Mimi Gamal. Written by Hesham Helal and directed by Ahmed Khaled Mousa, the series follows the story of brothers Nasar and Khidr, professional criminals, and how Nasar’s life changes after the arrival of “Hanna,” leading to bloody conflicts that engulf the entire family.
