The “Halaib–Shalateen” road in Aswan Governorate, in the far south of Egypt on the border with Sudan, witnessed a tragic accident that claimed the lives of five people after the car they were traveling in overturned during a trip and was completely engulfed in flames.

Sources from the Aswan Ambulance Service reported that the victims were found charred at kilometer 35 on the highway, and the bodies were transported to Aswan morgue for the necessary legal procedures.

Civil Protection forces immediately rushed to the scene to clear the wreckage and restore traffic on this vital road, which connects remote southern regions.

The Public Prosecution also arrived at the site and requested a police investigation into the circumstances of the incident, as part of a broader inquiry launched by the authorities to determine the cause of the accident and hold any responsible parties accountable for this tragic event.
