"Mohamed Sami Reverses Retirement and Returns with a Series "Respected by Every Arab Household

Egyptian director Mohamed Sami announced his decision to reverse his retirement from television drama directing, just months after declaring his temporary departure from the entertainment industry and his plans to travel abroad, surprising his followers.
Sami revealed his new project, a drama series titled "Red Kality", confirming that it will be the most significant work in his career and the one expected to achieve the highest viewership and excitement.
Mohamed Sami: An Unprecedented Story
In a post on Facebook, Sami noted that the new series presents a unique concept that has never been explored in any local or international production.
He wrote: "In the name of God, I am writing a new series, which, God willing, will be the most important in my artistic career and the most watched and discussed. A new story that has never been told before, neither locally nor globally."
He added: "Filming schedules, the cast, and the release date… all of this is not yet determined, but I know this project will be my finest and most distinguished work, respected and appreciated by every Arab household."
A Work Both Popular and Artistic
Sami emphasized that he aimed to achieve a challenging balance between mass appeal in terms of excitement and engagement, and high artistic quality worthy of the legacy of Arab drama.
He wrote: "I was trying to find a very difficult balance: how to create a popular work that satisfies the market’s demands, while at the same time being a true artistic work like the classics of the past."
He also mentioned that he drew inspiration from the advice of critic Tarek El-Shennawy: "I followed Mr. Tarek El-Shennawy’s advice, which is to innovate before the audience becomes saturated, and, thank God, I found that in my new project."
Reversing Retirement
Sami’s return comes just months after he announced his retirement from television directing, having declared in a previous post that he was bidding farewell to drama after a career spanning around 15 years.
At the time, he said: "Farewell to television drama. This year was my last work. I gave all I could to make the Arab audience happy, and I feared repetition and audience saturation with my style."
He also mentioned his plans to travel abroad for two years to study a field he loves, as part of his effort to renew himself and develop his artistic skills.
