You’ve crossed the line’".. Mohamed Attia threatens to take legal action"

Egyptian actor Mohamed Attia announced his intention to take legal action against certain social media pages after they crossed the line by distorting his words and using them misleadingly to attract more views.
Attia shared a post on his Facebook account, explaining that some pages take his statements out of context and add fake remarks attributed to him in order to increase engagement and reach.
"I’ve decided not to stay silent"
In his post, Attia said: "I’ve never been bothered by jokes or sarcastic comments, because for me, a joke is just a joke, and I joke with people as long as it stays within the bounds of humor. But there are pages that take my words, twist them, and add things I never said, presenting them as my real statements. This isn’t a joke—it’s just to make people react, insult, and share the post."
The actor confirmed that he decided not to remain silent about these violations, adding: "I’ve decided not to let this go, and I will take legal action against this type of overstepping, because it has gone too far. Thank you."
Mohamed Attia jokes with his followers
In a separate context, Attia shared a humorous post on Facebook, asking his followers to delete his film ‘Alaya Al-Tarab Bel Talata’ after his death, which sparked a wave of funny reactions from both artists and fans.
Actor Amr Wahba commented jokingly: "Whenever I watch it, I end up seeking forgiveness a lot… just leave it," while poet Ayman Bahgat Qamar wrote: "In its behind-the-scenes."
Actress Hagar El Sharnouby added a brief, humorous comment: "The comments," while Khaled Mokhtar wrote: "Man, after this misfortune, we can’t vote again." Director Moataz Hossam also joined in, saying: "Does it really need to be deleted while you’re alive?" Actor Mohamed El Kilani responded: "Honestly, that’s a major sin."
