Shocking Twist in the Drowning Incident of 6 Students in Alexandria – Video

The echoes of the tragic accident that took place on Saturday morning still cast a shadow over Alexandria, after six students drowned and 24 others were injured during a recreational trip to Abu Talat Beach in Agami, leaving the local community in shock and grief.
Warnings Unheeded
A circulating video revealed a shocking surprise, showing an official from the Beach Administration and Beach Security warning the students and their supervisors against swimming due to high waves and raised red warning flags. He was heard saying: “You don’t know the impact drowning accidents have on the victims’ families. Enjoy your time on the beach without going into the sea.”
Despite the warnings, one of the girls insisted on swimming and was swept away by the waves. Five of her friends tried to rescue her, but they all drowned. One survivor described the tragedy from the hospital, saying: “One wave wiped us all out.”
Swift Medical Response
Egypt’s Ministry of Health and Population announced that the accident resulted in the death of six students and injuries to 24 others. The ministry’s statement explained that 16 fully equipped ambulances were dispatched to the site. Three injured were treated on-site, while 13 were transferred to Agami Specialized Hospital and eight to Ameriya General Hospital, all receiving the necessary medical care under specialized teams’ supervision.
Condolences and Official Follow-Up
The ministry expressed its deepest condolences to the victims’ families and wished the injured a speedy recovery. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health, affirmed that all forms of medical and logistical support are being provided to the injured and their families, and that the victims’ health status is being closely monitored in coordination with rescue teams.
Call for Adherence to Safety Guidelines
The Egyptian Ministry of Health urged citizens to strictly follow beach safety guidelines, especially during group trips, to avoid the recurrence of such tragic incidents.
