The Public Prosecution in the 6th of October City has ordered the release of actor Ahmed El Sakka after hearing his testimony regarding a complaint filed against him by his ex-wife, TV presenter Maha El Sagheer, accusing him of verbally and physically assaulting her and her private driver. His release was granted upon posting bail of 5,000 EGP.

Earlier, the prosecution had heard the testimonies of Maha El Sagheer and her driver, who claimed that El Sakka had assaulted them in front of passersby inside a well-known compound in the 6th of October area. They were released after giving their statements.

Surveillance Footage Reviewed, Witnesses Summoned

As part of the investigation, the prosecution reviewed surveillance footage from cameras in the vicinity of the incident to verify the events, and summoned several eyewitnesses who were present at the time, in order to determine the validity of the claims made in the complaint.

Details of the Incident According to the Complaint

According to the complaint filed by Maha El Sagheer and her driver, the incident began as they were entering the compound, when Ahmed El Sakka’s car suddenly blocked their path. The driver stated that he attempted to avoid a collision by steering away, but El Sakka allegedly pursued them inside the compound, forced their car to stop, and got out of his vehicle to hurl insults at his ex-wife. The situation then escalated into physical assault.

The driver added that he tried to intervene and break up the altercation, but El Sakka allegedly assaulted him as well. As a result, he filed an official report with the authorities, demanding his legal rights be upheld.

Official Divorce After 26 Years of Marriage

It’s worth noting that Ahmed El Sakka officially announced his divorce from Maha El Sagheer on May 21st through a Facebook post, revealing that the separation had occurred six months prior and was officially documented two months before the announcement—thus ending a marriage that lasted approximately 26 years.
