In a notable development, Egyptian actor Ahmed El Sakka has ignored a summons issued by the Sheikh Zayed Prosecutor’s Office for questioning over a complaint filed against him by his ex-wife, TV presenter Maha El Sagheer, accusing him of assaulting her and her driver inside the residential compound where she lives.

Amid shock among the actor’s fans following the serious allegations by his ex-wife, and despite the official summons, El Sakka appeared on his official Instagram account in a humorous video with fellow actor Ahmed Fahmy. The video served as a lighthearted promotion for their upcoming film “Ahmed w Ahmed,” scheduled to be released on July 2, in which the two joked about changing clothes, saying: “Wait for us in the film Ahmed w Ahmed, on July 2.”

Maha El Sagheer gave her statement to the relevant investigative authorities in 6th of October City, confirming that she had been assaulted by her ex-husband in public view within the compound. The prosecution also heard the testimony of her driver and issued an official summons for El Sakka to be questioned over the allegations.

As part of the investigation, eyewitnesses and security personnel present at the scene were also summoned. The authorities have expedited efforts to obtain police intelligence reports, seized surveillance footage from the scene, and are currently reviewing it to clarify the details of the incident.
