The death of the son of Egyptian composer Salah El-Sharnouby, who passed away on Sunday, continues to raise questions about the cause of his sudden death, which occurred in the early hours of last Sunday, amid a state of shock.

The grief was clearly visible on the bereaved father, who needed the help of his relatives during the funeral procession, in a scene that moved many followers, who prayed for him to have patience and strength in this great loss.

The funeral ceremony was attended by a number of artistic and media personalities, including the artist Mohamed El-Sharnouby, the deceased’s cousin, writer Medhat Al-Adl, along with family members and close friends.

Suddenly passed away

According to statements from sources close to the family, as reported by Egyptian media, the death of Salah El-Sharnouby’s son was sudden; his relatives tried to wake him up in the morning but found that he had already passed away, with no prior symptoms of illness.

The Egyptian Authors and Composers Association mourned the deceased, writing on its Facebook page: “The board of directors, members, and employees offer their sincere condolences to the family of the great composer Salah El-Sharnouby on the death of his son Mohamed Salah El-Sharnouby, asking God Almighty to grant them patience and solace, and to envelop the deceased with His mercy, grant him paradise, and accept him with vast mercy.”

“Deep sorrow”

Meanwhile, Rami El-Sharnouby, the deceased’s brother, expressed his deep sorrow over the loss of his elder brother, writing on his Facebook page: “We belong to God and to Him we shall return. My dear elder brother, my beloved and light of my eyes, Mohamed Salah El-Sharnouby, has passed away to the mercy of God.”

The Musicians Syndicate, headed by artist Mostafa Kamel, also offered their sincere condolences to composer Salah El-Sharnouby. Mostafa Kamel wrote: “I extend my sincere condolences to my brother and lifelong friend, composer Salah El-Sharnouby, on the death of his son, engineer Mohamed. I ask God to have mercy on him and forgive him.”

Mohamed was the eldest son of Salah El-Sharnouby and has two brothers, Ziad and Rami. While the family has not officially announced the cause of death, some reports have circulated suggesting that a sudden heart attack may have been behind the passing.
