The Egyptian actress Somaya El-Alfy revealed her early artistic beginnings and the behind-the-scenes of entering the world of acting, highlighting her diverse experiences that helped shape her artistic and personal identity.

In a television interview on a program, El-Alfy explained that she started her artistic career with a leading role in the film "Warda," but at that time, she decided to change her name from "Somaya" to "Nada" based on the advice of the great writer Waheed Hamed, so as not to give the impression that her entry into the field was due to favoritism.

She expressed her happiness about the praise from media personality Mahmoud Saad for her performance, especially for her spontaneity and natural appearance without makeup.

She described director Hadi Al-Bajouri as a calm and confident director who does not know tension, which made the filming atmosphere comfortable and supportive. She also expressed her gratitude for collaborating with writer and producer Mohamed Hefzy, considering herself lucky to have started her career with great names.

"Good Dreams"

El-Alfy talked about her experience in the series "Ahlam Saeeda" (Good Dreams) with director Amr Arafa, where she played the role of the mother of actress Yousra. She said that Arafa gave her artistic space to be creative and added real value to her experience.

Temporary break for studies

She said she stayed away from the spotlight for a period to complete her university studies, where she studied at the American University and then obtained a master’s degree from the University of Calgary in Canada, affirming her belief that everything in life happens by fate, and that she lives with acceptance and contentment.

At the end of her talk, the young actress praised the strength of women and their ability to endure, affirming that women possess resilience and patience that often surpass men.
