Mohamed Henedy returns to cinema after a two-year absence "El Gawhary" officially pulled out of the Eid Al-Adha film season

The film "El Gawahergy", starring Egyptian actor Mohamed Henedy, continues to face a series of delays that have lasted for more than four years due to recurring production issues, which caused filming to stop several times.

The production company has finally announced the official release date for the film, set for July 30, 2025. Henedy will thus return to theaters after an absence of nearly two years since his last film, "Mar’i El Primo", which was released in 2023.

A source confirmed to the press that "El Gawahergy" is officially out of the 2025 Eid Al-Adha film season, with its release postponed to the end of July to compete in the high-demand summer box office season.

Henedy Explains the Reason for the Delay

Mohamed Henedy spoke in a television interview last February about the film's status, clarifying that it marks his first collaboration with actress Mona Zaki in over 25 years since their iconic film "Sa'idi in the American University".

Henedy noted that the delays were due to circumstances beyond his control, even though filming and promotion began back in 2021. He promised his audience a unique and exceptional movie experience.

About "El Gawahergy"

The film is written by Omar Taher and directed by Islam Khairy. Alongside Mohamed Henedy and Mona Zaki, the cast includes Lebleba, Ahmed Salah El Saadany, Tara Emad, Bassem Samra, Arefa Abdel Rasoul, and the late Ahmed Halawa, who passed away before completing his scenes. Director Islam Khairy confirmed he will find a creative solution to handle this challenge without affecting the storyline.

"Child Treatment Certificate"

Meanwhile, Henedy took part in the 2025 Ramadan drama season with a comedy series titled "Child Treatment Certificate", written by Mohamed Suleiman Abdel Malik, directed by Sameh Abdel Aziz, and produced by United Studios. The series stars a large ensemble cast including Noha Abdeen, Mahmoud Hafez, Gehan Khalil, Sabry Fawaz, Sama Ibrahim, Tamer Farag, Alaa Morsi, Khaled Anwar, and Walid Fawaz.

The plot follows the character "Abdel Sattar El Kaf", a lawyer who falls into a coma following an accident in 2005 and wakes up in 2025 to find himself in a completely different world. He begins a journey full of comedic twists as he tries to grasp the vast changes that occurred during his absence.
