Min Hunna Nabda - The stalled transactions for purchasing "leftover land" threaten to jeopardize the exemption before the deadline.

Citizens in Irbid complained to the "From Here We Begin" program about the stalled transactions for purchasing plots of land classified as "surplus land," despite the issuance of an exemption decision about two months ago. They emphasized that the slow procedures at the Greater Irbid Municipality may prevent them from benefiting from the exemption, which they said expires on January 1st.

One of those affected said his case dates back to 2020 when he was forced to purchase a commercial plot of land at a very high administrative price. Despite obtaining approval from the Ministry of Municipalities before starting the procedures, the transaction has been stalled for two months without completion.

He added that the problem is not limited to him alone, but also includes three of his neighbors, indicating that the unjustified delay could lead to significant financial losses if the exemption period expires without the transactions being completed.
