Jordanian truck drivers staged a sit-in today near the Jaber border crossing to protest decisions issued by Syrian authorities prohibiting the entry of foreign trucks, including Jordanian trucks, into Syria and requiring them to unload at the border according to the "back-to-back" mechanism. Only transit trucks are exempt from this decision.
The protesters appealed through Roya TV to the Jordanian government for urgent intervention to find a swift solution that ensures the smooth flow of trade and protects the interests of Jordanian transporters.
Guests on the program:
Mahmoud Al-Ash - Truck driver who was assaulted in Syria
Mohammad Khair Al-Daoud - Head of the Jordanian Truck Owners Association
Dr. Ayman Al-Badadwa - Head of the Parliamentary Committee on Public Services and Transportation
