Lebanese artist Muhammad Fadl Shaker announced the arrival of his newborn son in a family event that received wide engagement on social media, especially after he named the child “Fadl” after his father, Fadl Shaker, who is currently in detention on the basis of cases before the Lebanese judiciary.

Muhammad Fadl Shaker shared the moment of the announcement with his followers via Instagram, in a move that reflected his deep attachment to his father and his continued support during his ongoing legal crisis.

The artist also posted a video accompanied by a prayer in which he said: “Praise be to God for all that He gives and all that He grants. We have been blessed with our newborn. O God, make him grow in goodness and make him a source of joy for us,” before concluding with the child’s name: “Praise be to God, Fadl.”

The family event comes in parallel with judicial developments concerning Fadl Shaker, after the Beirut Criminal Court issued a ruling in early May acquitting him of the charge of killing Hilal Hammoud, in what was described as an initial breakthrough in his legal cases.

However, Fadl Shaker still faces several cases before the Lebanese military court, amid anticipation of today’s Tuesday, May 26 session regarding the “Abra events” case, one of the most prominent files in his legal situation, as questions grow about the possibility of positive developments that may pave the way for a family meeting between the grandfather and his grandson.

Legal estimates suggest the possibility that the defense team may request release on bail if the trend toward reduced sentences continues, opening the door to a possible meeting between the grandfather and his grandson should the legal situation improve in the coming period.
