In a new development in an ongoing legal crisis, Egyptian director Ahmed Khaled Moussa has filed a lawsuit before the competent authorities, requesting the lifting of the judicial seizure imposed on his funds and bank accounts, considering that the measures taken against him require urgent legal review.

The roots of the crisis go back to an old contractual dispute with a producer over financial amounts related to an agreement to carry out a film project, which later escalated from professional commitments into court proceedings after demands to return an advance payment of 500,000 EGP.

According to case documents, a previous ruling ordered the director to repay the amount with legal interest due to failure to fulfill the agreement as stipulated, which led to enforcement procedures resulting in the seizure of his assets.

In a related context, a final ruling issued in 2025 previously obligated the director to repay a financial sum related to another dispute involving a different film project, after signing a receipt confirming he had received part of the agreed fee.
