National coach Othman Al-Hasanat has criticized the technical level of the Jordan Cup semi-final between Al-Faisaly and Al-Ramtha, saying it fell short of both teams’ reputation.
He said Al-Faisaly looked predictable and lacked attacking solutions despite playing at home, while Al-Ramtha showed a pragmatic approach after switching to a 5-4-1 system, highlighting Moamen Al-Sakat as the standout player of the season.
On the dominance of social media and lack of confidence, Al-Hasanat said the two major clubs are going through a phase of insecurity, arguing that fan pressure on platforms like Facebook is now influencing management decisions more than technical judgment.
He added: “Al-Hussein Irbid is confident in itself, while Al-Faisaly and Al-Wehdat are only confident on social media.”
On Al-Hussein Irbid’s role, he said the club is currently best placed to represent Jordan internationally due to its squad depth and stability, unlike Al-Faisaly, which he said suffers from frequent coaching changes despite having quality players.
Al-Hasanat also said Al-Hussein Irbid is targeting the King’s Cup title to crown what he described as an exceptional season.
Separately, analyst Murad Al-Nawaisah said refereeing has become one of the main frustrations in Jordanian football, while backing Al-Hussein Irbid as favourites to win the upcoming North Derby due to their strong form and overall readiness.
