The Family Appeals Court in New Cairo District on Wednesday rejected the appeal submitted by actor Ahmed Ezz against the ruling obliging him to pay a monthly alimony of 30,000 pounds in favor of actress Zina, for her twin sons.

This decision confirms the earlier ruling in Zina’s favor, which granted her the right to receive monthly support for the twins, after a long legal dispute between the two parties that lasted for years in the courts.

During the appeal hearings, Zina’s lawyer, Motaz El-Dakr, submitted documents including recent works and advertisements featuring Ahmed Ezz, as part of supporting his client’s claim regarding his financial ability to pay the alimony.

The court had gone through several stages in determining the alimony amount, starting with 80,000 pounds monthly, then reducing it to 60,000 pounds, before finally settling on 30,000 pounds per month.

The roots of the case go back to 2014 when actress Zina filed a lawsuit to establish the paternity of her twins “Ezz El-Din” and “Zein El-Din.” The case went through several legal developments, ending with a final ruling confirming paternity through DNA testing, after Ahmed Ezz initially refused to undergo the test.

In 2017, Zina obtained a divorce by khul’ from Ahmed Ezz, but legal disputes between the two parties have continued until today, particularly regarding alimony and financial obligations for the twins.
