  • Medical and dental checkup scheduled for May 26
  • Visit comes amid routine monitoring and scrutiny of his health condition

U.S. President Donald Trump is preparing to undergo routine medical examinations, including a general checkup and dental exam, on May 26, according to the White House. The visit marks his fourth publicly announced medical appointment since returning to office and is described as part of his annual physical and standard preventive care.

According to the White House, the 79-year-old president—who will turn 80 next month and become the oldest person ever to hold the U.S. presidency—continues to receive regular medical monitoring amid growing public attention to his health in recent months.

Trump has recently said he feels “as he did 50 years ago,” telling reporters at the Oval Office: “I feel literally the same… I don’t know why. It’s not because I eat the best foods.”

He has also joked about his physical activity, saying he works out for “about one minute a day, max.”

During his annual physical in April 2025, his physician said he was in “excellent health” to carry out his duties, noting he had lost around 20 pounds compared to his 2020 exam, when his weight had approached obesity levels.

Earlier health updates from the White House reported mild swelling in his lower legs, later diagnosed as chronic venous insufficiency—a common condition among older adults that causes blood to pool in the veins.

The White House also explained that bruising on his hands was linked to frequent handshakes and aspirin use, which he takes to prevent blood clots.

In October, Trump underwent another medical checkup that included flu and COVID-19 booster vaccinations, along with advanced cardiac and abdominal imaging for preventive purposes.

His medical history during his first term included several routine exams and a treatment period following his COVID-19 infection in 2020.

The upcoming visit will also include a dental exam, following recent visits to a local dentist near his Florida residence, where he regularly spends weekends.
