The Court of Appeal in Kuwait (Criminal Appeals 9) issued a final ruling closing the case of Kuwaiti actress Ilham Al-Fadala, acquitting her of all charges against her, most notably the accusation of spreading false news, after reviewing the appeal submitted against the previous ruling.

The verdict, presided over by Counselor Abdullah Al-Sane, confirmed that there was no evidence to convict the actress, and accepted the legal defenses presented by the defense team, leading to her full acquittal of all charges.

In her first reaction to the ruling, lawyer Mariam Al-Bahr appeared in a video on her official account, announcing the news with clear joy, saying: “Praise be to God… I bring you today the appeal ruling in favor of my sister and friend Ilham Al-Fadala, and I congratulate her on the acquittal.”

For her part, Ilham Al-Fadala expressed her gratitude through her social media accounts, writing: “Praise be to God, Lord of the worlds,” and thanking her lawyer, describing her as “the hero of heroes,” praising her efforts. She also shared another message on Snapchat saying: “Thank you to our fair and just judiciary… acquittal.”
