The family of the late Egyptian actor Abdel Rahman Abu Zahra broke its silence to respond to circulating reports about an alleged will attributed to him following his death, confirming that all such claims are completely false.

Musician Ahmed Abu Zahra, the late actor’s son, denied the authenticity of statements circulating across websites and social media platforms, stressing that the family had not made any comments regarding alleged wishes or personal details related to his father during this sensitive time.

Ahmed Abu Zahra also called for accuracy and respect for the family’s emotions following the passing of his father, who died on May 11, 2026, at the age of 92 after a long struggle with illness, emphasizing that all statements attributed to the family are “untrue.”

In a Facebook post, he clarified that no family member had spoken to any media outlet about the late artist’s alleged will, urging people to stop spreading inaccurate reports, especially given the difficult humanitarian circumstances the family is experiencing.

The family’s response came after rumors spread claiming that Abdel Rahman Abu Zahra had requested his funeral procession to pass in front of the National Theatre in Cairo’s Ataba district — a claim the family categorically denied.

The veteran actor passed away on Monday evening after a severe health crisis that worsened in recent months. He had been receiving medical care at a Cairo hospital until his death was announced.

In an emotional tribute, Ahmed Abu Zahra mourned his father with heartfelt words, saying that the late actor was not only a great artist, but also a father, mentor, and principled man who left a profound human impact on his family and everyone who knew him.

The Egyptian Actors Syndicate also mourned the late actor in an official statement, describing Abdel Rahman Abu Zahra as one of the most prominent artistic figures whose works will remain immortal in the memory of Arab audiences for years to come.
