• Jordan basketball federation upholds fair play rules, announces updated fixture schedule soon

The Jordan Basketball Federation has announced the Appeals Committee’s decisions regarding Al-Wehdat Club’s objection to sanctions issued by the Disciplinary and Conduct Committee, following incidents from the second game against Al-Faisaly in the CFI Men’s Premier League final series.

The committee accepted the appeal procedurally and unanimously annulled the decision to cancel and replay the match, ruling instead that the second game will resume from the point it was halted—remaining 9 minutes and 2 seconds in the fourth quarter—with the same refereeing crew and previously set procedures.

It also ruled that the match will continue behind closed doors, with no spectators allowed, and extended the same “empty stands” measure to the third and fourth games of the final series to ensure competition integrity.

On individual sanctions, the committee rejected several parts of the appeal. It upheld the punishment against player Sam Daniel, citing it as a final decision not subject to appeal. It also dismissed claims regarding Ammar Bustami due to lack of any reference in the original ruling or referees’ report.

Additionally, it unanimously upheld sanctions against players Mohammed Shahir and Hussein Ababneh, as well as coach Abdullah Abu Qoura, confirming those decisions as final and non-appealable.

The federation reaffirmed its commitment to enforcing regulations to ensure fairness, adding that an updated match schedule will be issued shortly.
