The upcoming event comes as a message of loyalty to an artist whose name has been closely associated with classical Egyptian music, and who over many years maintained his presence as one of the most prominent voices that shaped the Arab audience’s cultural and emotional memory.

A musical school

The Egyptian Ministry of Culture emphasized that the tribute reflects the state’s appreciation of his great artistic value, especially as he represented a musical school that preserved the romantic style and refined lyrics in Arabic song, along with his lasting influence on different generations of listeners.

In official statements, the Minister of Culture, Dr. Jehan Zaki, noted that the late artist was not merely a widely popular singer, but rather an artistic and human phenomenon that left a deep mark on the Arab memory, stressing that the ceremony will be an opportunity to recall key milestones of his long artistic journey.

Hani Shaker is considered one of the most prominent Arab singers, having produced more than 600 songs and dozens of albums that achieved wide success since his debut in the early 1970s, eventually becoming one of the most important icons of modern Egyptian song.

The late artist passed away in a hospital in France in May 2026 after a health crisis that required intensive care, before his body was transferred to Egypt, where he was laid to rest in a funeral attended by a large number of artists and fans amid deep sorrow and grief.
