Controlling the entry process and preventing unqualified individuals from causing chaos Designated areas for photographers, a unified uniform, and an approved database

The Photographers’ Division of the Egyptian Journalists Syndicate has begun implementing the first official protocol to regulate coverage of funeral ceremonies, during the funeral and mourning of the late artist Hany Shaker. The move aims to preserve the sanctity of human moments and ensure disciplined media coverage that respects the privacy of the deceased’s family.

Magdy Ibrahim, head of the Photographers’ Division, announced the launch of a registration form for photographers wishing to cover such events, aiming to regulate entry and prevent unqualified individuals, impostors posing as journalists, and social media users from causing chaos. The protocol also includes designated areas for photographers, a unified dress code, and reliance on a pre-approved database of participants.

Legal accountability

Ibrahim stressed that any violation of the professional rules will expose the offender to syndicate investigation and may extend to legal accountability in case of breaching coverage regulations or violating the privacy of the late artist’s family, emphasizing the importance of respecting the nature of such ceremonies.

In a related context, artist Nadia Mostafa stated that the body of the late artist will arrive in Egypt tomorrow, Tuesday, from Paris, after coordination between the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Egyptian Embassy in France.

She added that the body will be transferred upon arrival to Sheikh Zayed Specialized Hospital, and the funeral prayer will be held after Wednesday noon prayer at “Abu Shaqqa Mosque” in Palm Hills, Sixth of October City, while the family will receive condolences on Thursday at the same mosque.
