  • Born as a rare case of nonuplets

Guinness World Records has released a video marking the ninth twins’ fifth birthday in Mali, drawing renewed attention to one of the most notable multiple-birth survival cases.

The group includes five boys and four girls, and they hold the record for the highest number of living children from a single birth.

The children now live a stable life with their parents and their seven-year-old older sister, and are preparing to start school in the coming period.

Recent photos shared by the parents show them in matching outfits during group shots, highlighting their growth, physical changes, and distinct personalities in natural interactions.

The mother said the children are healthy, developing normally, and are active and happy, expressing gratitude for the support the family receives.

She added that starting school marks an important stage in their lives, stressing the family’s focus on education while preserving their childhood.

The nonuplets were born on 4 May 2021 in Morocco, delivered prematurely at 30 weeks via caesarean section, after doctors initially believed the pregnancy involved seven fetuses before the full number was confirmed later.

They remained under medical care in Morocco for 19 months before returning to Mali.
