The family of the late Egyptian singer Abdel Halim Hafez has expressed its desire to transform his artistic and human biography into a major cinematic production, drawing inspiration from recent global biographical works that have portrayed the lives of music legends, most notably Michael, which documents the career of Michael Jackson.

The family confirmed its full readiness to cooperate with any production entity interested in implementing the project, including allowing filming inside Abdel Halim Hafez’s home, in order to present a more authentic and detailed representation of his life and career.

In a statement, the family said: “We are fully prepared to provide all support and assistance, including information, details, and artistic insights that would make this work different from anything previously produced.”

They added: “We are also ready for the personal, human, and artistic aspects of this work to be filmed inside Abdel Halim Hafez’s home so that it reflects reality as closely as possible, marking the first time an artistic production is filmed with such visual authenticity inside his residence.”

The family believes that Abdel Halim Hafez’s career deserves multiple productions covering all stages of his life, emphasizing that his legacy remains strongly present in the Arab artistic world despite the passing of decades, as “Halim” continues to be regarded as one of the most prominent singing figures in the region.

They also noted that actor Mahmoud Azazy is considered a suitable candidate to portray him, expressing hope to soon engage with filmmakers to launch a project worthy of the late artist’s legacy.

This proposal comes in parallel with the international release of Michael, the biopic depicting the life of Michael Jackson, which highlights his artistic success as well as the challenges he faced throughout his career, in a comprehensive cinematic portrayal of one of the most influential figures in global music history.
