The Syrian actor Qusai Khouli said that he faced threats of having his Syrian citizenship revoked and being banned from entering the country, considering that period one of the harshest phases of his life.

He pointed out, the star of the series “Bikhamas Arwah,” which aired on Roya TV throughout Ramadan, in press statements, that the source of these threats was a media figure with influence at the time, whom he described in harsh terms, while reaffirming his strong sense of identity and belonging, saying he is Syrian “in blood, origin, and stance,” and that his relationship with his country and audience is based on full respect without ambiguity.

Artistic effort

Khouli also denied claims that he received special privileges during his career in Syria, stressing that his success was based solely on his artistic effort and that he did not benefit from any exceptions, but rather worked like other actors under the same circumstances.

In a notable emotional moment, the actor was visibly moved during the interview, breaking into tears when speaking about his loneliness, and becoming even more emotional when talking about death, explaining that he no longer fears it because he sees it as a path that will reunite him with his late father, whom he lost two years ago and misses deeply.
