OpenAI has launched its latest artificial intelligence model, named GPT-5.5, describing it as its “smartest and easiest-to-use model” to date, in a new step within the race to develop advanced AI technologies.

The new model comes with enhanced capabilities on multiple levels. Greg Brockman, co-founder and president of the company, stated that this release brings OpenAI one step closer to developing what is known as the “all-in-one application,” aiming to provide a multi-purpose program within a unified service designed to support enterprise customers and meet their various technical needs.

Brockman added that the new model represents an important advancement toward building more efficient and intuitive computing systems capable of handling complex tasks in a smoother and smarter way, improving the user experience in professional and enterprise environments.

According to the company, GPT-5.5 has been designed for broad use across multiple fields, including core enterprise areas such as automated programming and knowledge management, as well as experimental AI applications involving advanced mathematics and scientific research.

Mark Chen, OpenAI’s Chief Research Officer, said the new model has shown higher efficiency in managing computational processes compared to previous versions, noting that it achieved “tangible gains in scientific and technical research workflows,” which could positively impact scientific development.

Chen also added that the model may help scientists make greater progress in their research and could contribute to sensitive fields such as drug discovery, an area that has seen growing interest from technology and research companies in recent years.

In a related context, the company announced that GPT-5.5 is now widely available. It will be accessible to Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise users on ChatGPT, while GPT-5.5 Pro will be available for Pro, Business, and Enterprise users as part of a gradual global rollout plan.
