Egyptian actor Mohamed El Tagy underwent urgent surgery after being rushed to a private hospital in Nasr City, Cairo, following a sudden health crisis.

In press remarks, El Tagy said the episode began at home while he was with his family, when he suddenly developed severe abdominal pain that quickly intensified, forcing him to seek medical attention.

Medical examinations revealed a large abdominal hernia that had likely existed for some time but had progressed to an advanced and painful stage.

He added that he underwent a swift surgical procedure during which a medical mesh was implanted, after which he was moved to a private room for post-operative care under close medical supervision, noting that his condition requires careful follow-up given his recent series of surgeries.

Doctors expect him to be discharged soon, with recovery to continue at home once his condition stabilizes.

Mohamed El Tagy is a well-known figure in Egyptian cinema and television, with a long career spanning theater, film, and TV productions. His credits include the play El Motazawijoun, the film El Motared, and TV series such as Al Bashayer and Hadayek El Shaitan, as well as recent works like El Ajeher, El Atawla, and El Laaba 4.

His most recent appearance was in the Ramadan series Papa w Mama Giran.
