Comedian Nikki Glaser revealed that she received baskets of pasta from Leonardo DiCaprio after making jokes about his romantic life during her hosting of the “Golden Globes” ceremony.

The comedian said DiCaprio was the only celebrity who responded to her in kind following her sharp jokes at the awards show.

Speaking during an April 21 media appearance, Glaser reflected on her second consecutive time hosting the ceremony on January 11, noting that her opening monologue included jokes about several Hollywood stars in attendance, including DiCaprio, where she commented on his relationships with younger women and his famously private personal life.

She explained that she usually sends flowers after such events to anyone she joked about if they were good sports, saying: “I always do it to thank them, because it’s part of why I’m successful in this field.” She added that DiCaprio was “the only person who sent something back.”

In her opening monologue, she directly addressed the actor saying: “What an incredible career you’ve had, countless iconic roles, you’ve worked with the greatest directors, won three Golden Globes and an Oscar. And the most impressive thing is that you achieved all of that before your girlfriend turned 30.”

The remark referred to his relationship with model Vittoria Ceretti, 27, while DiCaprio is 51.

Glaser later described the joke as “cheap,” but said DiCaprio’s extreme privacy left her with little material to work with, adding: “We don’t know anything about you… open up. Your most in-depth interview was in a teen magazine in 1991. Is your favorite food still pasta, pasta, and more pasta?”

Despite the satire, Glaser confirmed that DiCaprio took the jokes in good spirits and even sent her an unexpected gift, saying: “He sent me three baskets of pasta as a thank-you… it was both very funny and very kind.”
