- Narrow property draws buyers despite tiny size
- Competitive auction pushes final price well above expectations
A small home in South Wales has attracted strong interest after selling for nearly £45,000 (about $60,000), roughly double its initial valuation, despite its unusually compact size.
The property, located in Pentre in Rhondda Cynon Taf, is considered one of the narrowest houses in Britain, measuring just about 2.2 metres at its widest point.
Despite its slim structure, the house includes a single bedroom, hallway, fitted kitchen, and bathroom, along with double-glazed windows and a small rear garden offering slightly more outdoor space than indoor width.
Originally listed at around £23,000 (about $30,000), the property drew significant attention at auction, receiving 35 bids before eventually selling well above expectations.
The sale comes amid growing interest in so-called “thin houses” across Wales and the UK, including a 16th-century property in Conwy measuring around 1.8 metres wide, and another narrow home in London at about 1.6 metres, both cited among the slimmest residential buildings in the country.
