The repercussions of a case that sparked major controversy in the Turkish artistic community continue to unfold, after the disclosure of medical test results linked to ongoing investigations into files concerning “prohibited substances” involving a number of celebrities.

Laboratory analyses conducted as part of judicial investigations revealed that blood and hair samples belonging to actor Burak Deniz contained prohibited substances, according to Turkish media reports, led by the newspaper Sabah, which detailed findings reached by the competent authorities within the investigation process.

The case dates back to April 9 of this month, when specialized narcotics units in Istanbul carried out a series of security raids that led to the detention of several individuals, including actor Burak Deniz and actress Sera Pırinç, amid shock among their fans, along with other figures from the artistic, media, and content creation sectors, in a case described as one of the most prominent to affect well-known personalities in recent times.

“Positive results”

According to the Turkish Forensic Medicine Institute, the test results for both Burak Deniz and Sera Pırinç came back positive, with prohibited substances detected in the samples analyzed as part of the ongoing investigation. This has further complicated the case and triggered widespread reactions across Turkish society and social media platforms.
