Sources close to Lebanese singer Fadel Shaker have revealed new developments regarding his legal and personal situation, ahead of the final verdict in his case, which has been occupying public opinion for years.

According to his close friend Mahmoud Al-Khatib in press statements, Shaker is still residing in what is described as “voluntary isolation” inside a specially prepared room at the Lebanese Ministry of Defense headquarters, rather than a traditional prison, as he is being tried before a military court.

Psychological calm Al-Khatib explained that the artist is currently living in a state of psychological calm and cautious optimism, spending his time awaiting monthly court sessions. He noted that Shaker has completely withdrawn from any artistic activity during this period, entering what he called “artistic isolation,” refusing to record or release any new works until a final verdict is issued and full acquittal is granted, according to him.

He also pointed out that visits allowed for Fadel Shaker are limited to his lawyer and family members only, as part of managing the case and organizing legal defense papers under strict confidentiality and procedures surrounding his current circumstances.

Documented facts In a notable development, Al-Khatib confirmed—according to media sources—that the most serious charge against Shaker for years has been dropped after investigations concluded he did not participate in the Abra clashes against the Lebanese army, based on documented testimonies and facts, as he stated.

He added that investigations revealed a sharp dispute between Shaker and Ahmed Al-Assir before the events, which allegedly led Shaker to hand over his weapons and group a full week before the clashes began, significantly changing the course of the case. He explained that the current legal file now focuses on the charge of belonging to a terrorist organization, which the defense team is working to fully dismiss.
