The Cairo New Court of Misdemeanors decided, on Sunday, to renew the detention of Hussein, the son of former international player and sports analyst Ahmed Hossam “Mido,” for 15 days pending investigations, for the second time, in a case involving possession of suspected prohibited substances, in addition to the discovery of alcoholic beverages, driving without a license, and causing damage to public property in an incident that sparked widespread controversy.

Details of the detention renewal decision The judge of opposition issued the decision after reviewing the investigations conducted by the Public Prosecution under the supervision of Counselor Ahmed El-Saeed, where all circumstances and evidence related to the case were examined.

Investigations revealed that the accused, a high school student, was arrested on Mohamed bin Zayed Axis in the Fifth Settlement area while driving a car in an unstable manner, raising suspicions about his condition at the time of the incident.

Discovery of items inside the vehicle During the search of the car owned by his mother, authorities found suspected prohibited substances, along with other items, which strengthened the accusations against him.

Investigations also showed that the accused was driving without a license, as he had not reached the legal driving age, in addition to being accused of damaging some public property during the incident.

Ongoing investigations The Public Prosecution continues its investigations into the case, while a final decision is expected regarding referring the accused to trial.

Previous incident Security forces had previously arrested the son of the former player in March in the Fifth Settlement area after he was suspected during a security checkpoint, before later forensic reports confirmed the presence of prohibited substances in his system.
