A group of divers and tourists in Dahab, Egypt, spotted a rare Risso’s dolphin during a boat trip inside the marine reserve, drawing amazement from visitors who eagerly photographed it while swimming.

Dr. Ahmed Ghalab, an environmental researcher at the Red Sea reserves, explained that Risso’s dolphins are large and rarely approach the shore, noting that seeing one in the Red Sea highlights the area’s rich biodiversity.

He added that these dolphins can reach up to three meters in length, with some measuring as much as 3.8 meters, and weighing between roughly 50 and 300 kilograms.

The reserve, located south of Dahab in South Sinai, is a popular destination for diving and snorkeling enthusiasts and is renowned for its abundant coral reefs teeming with marine life.
