Egypt’s Minister of Health Khaled Abdel Ghaffar intervened to transfer veteran actor Abdel Rahman Abu Zahra to a hospital affiliated with the ministry, following requests from his family to provide more private and precise medical care after his recent health crisis.

The decision came in response to the family’s concern about his stay in a shared intensive care unit, as they believed that the presence of other patients could affect privacy and increase the risk of infection. This prompted his son, musician Ahmed Abu Zahra, to directly contact the concerned authorities to request his transfer to a safer medical environment.

Stability in his health condition

The actor was indeed transferred to a private intensive care room, where he is under continuous medical supervision around the clock, with confirmations that his condition is currently relatively stable.

On the medical side, the family has firmly decided to refuse any surgical intervention at this stage, including a lung endoscopy that had been proposed to accurately diagnose the condition, preferring to avoid risks associated with anesthesia or surgical procedures, especially given his advanced age and fragile health condition.

These developments come about two weeks after the actor suffered a sudden fainting episode at home, during which medical examinations revealed the presence of an abnormal object in the lung, raising medical concerns about its nature, while diagnostic options remain limited due to the inability to carry out invasive procedures.

Between medical caution and the family’s anticipation, the condition remains under close monitoring, in hopes of a stable improvement without the need for complex procedures in the coming phase.
