• Salwa Al-Qudsi passes away at 87 in Beirut

Salwa Al-Qudsi, known as the last fiancée of the late musician Farid Al-Atrash, has died at the age of 87 in her home in Beirut.

She was the final love and romantic partner of Al-Atrash before his death.

Al-Qudsi’s relationship with the legendary musician began in the 1970s, when she was roughly 30 years younger than him.

She had previously been married to Al-Atrash’s friend, Lebanese doctor Nour El-Din Al-Qudsi. After his passing, her bond with Al-Atrash strengthened, and the couple announced their engagement—a move that surprised many of his fans, particularly since he had remained unmarried for 40 years.

The wedding had been planned, but Al-Atrash’s declining health caused the date to be postponed multiple times, and he passed away while still engaged to her.

Salwa Al-Qudsi was known for her devotion to the musician and witnessed his final moments. In previous interviews, she recalled that Al-Atrash died in her arms while listening to his song “Awal Hamsa” on the radio.
