X has begun restricting, at the present time, access to its advanced version "X Pro", limiting it only to subscribers of the "+X Premium" plan, which costs around $40 per month, in a move that sparked wide interaction among users.
The "X Pro" version was previously known as "TweetDeck" before it was acquired by Elon Musk after purchasing Twitter, where it was available for free to users, before later transforming into an advanced tool for content management through a web interface that allows controlling multiple feeds and lists at the same time.
According to what was reported by MacRumors, a technology news website, subscribers to the regular "Premium" plan, which costs $8 per month, were able to use "X Pro" until March 26. However, the platform has now started requiring subscription to the higher-cost plan, which is about five times the previous subscription, in order to access this feature.
Sudden interruptionUsers of "X Pro" did not receive any prior notifications about this change, as they were surprised by a sudden interruption of the service, which led to a wave of complaints and angry reactions on the platform itself.
On its official website, X clarified that the features available within subscription plans may be subject to change at any time, as part of its ongoing efforts to develop and improve services. The platform’s help center also indicated that access to "X Pro" is now restricted only to subscribers of the "+Premium" plan.
X offers three different subscription plans; starting with the basic plan for $3 per month or $32 per year, passing through the "Premium" plan at $8 per month or $84 per year, and reaching the "+Premium" plan which costs $40 per month or $395 per year.
These plans differ in the level of features, as the basic plan includes advertisements, while the "Premium" plan provides fewer ads, whereas the "+Premium" plan contains no advertisements at all, except for sponsored content, making it the highest tier in terms of features among the platform’s services.
