- Former manager fined 50,000 pounds for hijacking Sherine Abdel Wahab’s accounts
The Cairo Economic Misdemeanor Court on Saturday ordered Sherine Abdel Wahab's former social media managerto pay 50,000 Egyptian pounds for taking control her official accounts, as well as to cover the court fees, local media reported.
Abdel Wahab had previously filed a complaint through her lawyer, accusing her former manager of taking over her official pages on Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, and her YouTube channel, using them to generate profits without permission.
Her legal team stressed that she had not signed any agreements transferring ownership or control of her accounts to anyone, describing the actions as illegal seizure and unauthorized commercial exploitation.
The ruling comes after an earlier court decision cleared the singer of defamation and insult charges in the same dispute over access to her account passwords.
Abdel Wahab has stayed away from the music scene for several months due to a string of personal and professional challenges, while fans are eagerly awaiting her comeback.
