Hani Al-Jarrah assumes the position for the first time

Director Dr. Hani Al-Jarrah won the position of President of the Jordanian Artists Syndicate during the elections for the presidency and members of the new council, which will serve for the next two years.

Al-Jarrah secured the victory in the first round after obtaining 209 votes, compared to 110 votes for his rival, director Mohammad Al-Damour, in elections held on Friday at the Royal Cultural Center in the capital, Amman. Al-Jarrah is assuming the position for the first time, after previously serving as a member of several former councils of the syndicate.

27 candidates ran for council membership across five professions: acting, directing, music performance (instrumental and singing), musical composition, and technical artistic professions.

The number of members of the general assembly who had paid their dues reached 393, of whom 324 participated in the elections that began on Friday morning.

Distinguished Academic Experience

Al-Jarrah has a distinguished academic background, holding advanced degrees in directing, acting, educational sciences, curricula, and arts education.

Professionally, Al-Jarrah previously served as a cultural attaché at the Jordanian Embassy in Abu Dhabi, and as Director General of Activities at the Jordanian Ministry of Education. He has also directed several theatrical works and participated as an actor in various productions.

Al-Jarrah leads, along with ten other members representing acting, directing, instrumental performance, singing, musical composition, and technical arts, the 14th term of the Jordanian Artists Syndicate council.
