3 children lost their lives by drowning in Irbid Activists mourned the victims with moving words

Amid a state of grief and sorrow, silence prevailed over the Al-Sleihat/Al-Karimeh area in the Northern Jordan Valley in Irbid Governorate, following a tragic incident in which three children died after drowning in one of the agricultural ponds. The incident brought back scenes of loss that leave a deep impact on hearts, especially when it involves young lives that were still at the beginning of their journey.

According to available information, the children’s ages ranged between 7 and 10 years. A report was received by the Civil Defense operations room, and teams responded quickly, retrieving the children and transporting them to Abu Ubaida Governmental Hospital. However, fate was faster, and they passed away amid significant sadness and questions about the circumstances of the incident.

This incident, with all the pain it carries, once again raises deep humanitarian questions about the importance of paying attention to nearby hazards around children’s living areas, especially agricultural ponds and waterways that may appear harmless but can quickly turn into real dangers.

In light of this painful tragedy, calls are renewed to strengthen community awareness and continuously monitor children, and to prevent them from approaching unsafe water sources, in order to protect their safety and avoid repeating such incidents that leave lasting wounds in the hearts of families and society.

Activists on social media mourned the victims of the painful incident, praying that their families be granted patience and solace, while video clips circulated showing the moment the children were found inside the pond amid a gathering of local residents.
