  • Strange details emerge about Trump and Melania’s sleeping arrangements
  • Two separate beds even on official flights

California Governor Gavin Newsom revealed unusual insights into President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania’s sleeping setup while they're traveling.

Newsom, 58, in his book Young Man in a Hurry: A Memoir of Discovery, recounts the Air Force One tour in November 2018 following the devastating wildfires in Paradise, Northern California.

The governor described Trump, 79, as “giddy like a child” exploring the multimillion-dollar plane, noting that every button and whistle seemed to give him personal satisfaction.

During the tour, Trump invited Newsom to check the bedroom where Melania and he would retire on long trips.

Newsom noted the room had two separate beds, quoting Trump: “Melania wanted one bed… but there are two beds, you know, two beds next to each other.”

These revelations have long fueled speculation about the couple’s marriage, especially after a 2018 Washington Post report confirming that Trump and Melania have separate bedrooms in the White House and often spend free time apart.

Author Michael Wolff said in May 2025, “The president and the first lady live separate lives. They are clearly separated.”

Sources at Windsor Castle revealed the couple also slept in separate rooms during their UK visit last September.

Trump and Melania married in 2005 and have a 19-year-old son named Barron.
