Shooting at her home caused no injuries

U.S. authorities have charged 35-year-old Ivanna Lisette Ortiz with attempted murder after she fired shots at the Los Angeles home of pop star Rihanna, prosecutors said.

The District Attorney’s office said Ortiz fired multiple rounds from a semi-automatic rifle at the mansion on Sunday at 1:15 p.m. local time, but no one was hurt.

Ortiz was apprehended at the Sherman Oaks Galleria shopping center, about 12 kilometers from Rihanna’s home. Her bail was set at $1.875 million, and she faces a potential life sentence.

Authorities confirmed that the shooting occurred while Rihanna and her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky, were at the residence, and investigations are ongoing to determine the motive.

Prosecutors added that Ortiz fired at the home before fleeing and now faces ten felony counts of assault with a semi-automatic firearm and three counts of shooting at an inhabited dwelling.

The Los Angeles Police Department said Ortiz had posted multiple messages on social media referring to Rihanna, including an X post stating: “Are you there? … tell me directly instead of sneaking around as if you’re talking to me where I’m not.”
