A tragic crime shook a quiet residential area after a woman fatally shot her two children inside their home before ending her own life, in a shocking incident that occurred while her husband was away on a business trip.

According to U.S. media, Monica Rubacha (44) shot her children Josh (14) and Emma (11) in their bedrooms before turning the gun on herself.

Her husband, Richard James (45), was abroad on a business trip when he lost contact with his wife for a day and a half and called the police to check on the family.

Shocking scene inside the house Police went to the home, valued at approximately £1.4 million, for a routine welfare check. Upon arrival, officers noticed signs that led them to enter the house. Inside, they found what was later described as a “violent crime scene,” with all three family members suffering from gunshot wounds.

Preliminary investigations suggested the incident appeared to be premeditated, with authorities believing the mother was fully aware of her actions.

Sheriff Rick Wells, leading the investigation, said: "We can’t always understand what people are going through behind closed doors," adding that such events can occur without clear prior indicators.

Randy Warren, the media officer for the Manatee County Police, described the scene as shocking even for the officers present. He added that the incident was particularly devastating for the father, who returned home to learn of the deaths of his wife and children, noting that investigations have so far revealed no prior signs pointing to the possibility of such a tragedy.
