• Affirms he was fasting

A viral clip from a recent funeral has sparked widespread reactions online, after some viewers suggested that Yassin Al-Saqqa, son of actor Ahmed Al-Saqqa, was breaking his fast during Ramadan.

The controversy arose after footage captured him entering the mosque to perform funeral prayers for the late actress Mai Omar. In the clip, it appeared as if he was moving his mouth, which led some social media users to claim he was eating during fasting hours.

In response, Yassin Al-Saqqa addressed the speculation on his Instagram Story, saying: "Even though it’s something between me and my Lord… may God forgive those who commented thinking I was eating or fasting."

He explained that he decided to respond out of respect for those who saw the circulating video, adding: "The reason my mouth was moving the way it appeared in the video is that I had a dental procedure the day before, and my gums were inflamed."

Yassin emphasized that he was fully observing the fast, concluding: "I was fasting, praise be to God… it’s a good opportunity to wish you a blessed Ramadan. May God accept your fasting and acts of obedience."
