Egyptian actress Mai Ezz El-Din has undergone a delicate surgery, sparking concern among her followers until new details about her condition emerged.

Medical reports revealed that she suffered from widespread pus in her stomach and intestines, causing internal adhesions and pressure on her pelvis, which required urgent surgical intervention to clean the affected areas and clear her intestines, according to media sources.

Her husband, nutritionist Ahmed Taymour, had announced a few days ago that she was hospitalized in a private Cairo hospital after facing a sudden health crisis about a week earlier.

Taymour posted on his Facebook account: "Mai has been unwell for two weeks before Ramadan and has been in the hospital for about a week." He added: "Mai underwent surgery today and is now in intensive care. Please pray for her speedy recovery."

This news comes less than three months after Mai Ezz El-Din announced her marriage to Ahmed Taymour on November 11, 2025, sharing photos of the marriage contract on Instagram. The intimate family ceremony was limited to close relatives, including actor Ahmed El Saadany.
